James Vaughn

Clarinet, Saxophone, and Woodwinds Instructor

James Vaughan is a Saxophonist, Flutist, Clarinetist, Composer, and Educator living in San Jose, CA. He is involved with many styles of music including Jazz, Salsa, Brazilian, Orchestral, and everything in between. At the moment, James is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Music Education at San Jose State University. Currently, James coaches at various schools around the Bay Area, working with wind ensemble and jazz band classes. He also tutors privately students of various ages and skill levels, teaching multiple styles of music. While maintaining a busy teaching schedule, James performs all around and outside the Bay Area. He has recently performed at San Jose Jazz Summerfest as a member of the band called, Miss Hits. With the same band, he has recorded an album, which is set to be released in the next couple of months. Other honorable mentions includes performing as a member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra and in various pit orchestras and theater groups around the Bay Area. James has studied with world renowned musicians including Mary Fettig, Dr. Aaron Lington, and Steve Sánchez.
